About Mateo

Mateo is originally from Colombia, but was born in the UK and lived in six countries by the fifth grade. His travels exposed him to a wealth of different cultures and styles, which serve as the inspiration for his own creativity.

Today, Mateo lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and two young children. He is fueled by his children’s sense of wonder. Their laughter and curiosity drive him to create stories for the next generation of readers.

Mateo created Storyhouse Lane to share his fun and educational stories with the world. His debut book, Bow Wow Said The Cow, brings that mission to life and will be available for purchase on April 21, 2026. Visit the shop to explore his latest work and join the next generation of readers.
